About Kaumudi Somnay, MD
Gastroenterology.Dr. Somnay completed her fellowship at Harvard Medical School where she underwent advanced training for procedures such as ERCP (endoscoptic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), a technique that few gastroenterologists specialize in. She later went on to be a member of the GI staff at Johns Hopkins before serving as Chief of Endoscopy at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center. Though she greatly enjoyed academia and teaching, Dr. Somnay moved to dedicate her efforts to her true interest and passion, patient care. Now, she has established a full time practice with two main locations in Flushing and Valley Stream, NY.
